We work in a changing environment. There are new customer, legal and environmental requirements, the material change request in a manufacturing process or machine improvement – and our processes do not always follow this changes; increasing the cost and extending the final good or service lead time. What can we do in such situation? Currently, there are many process optimization methods and techniques developed from the beginning of 20th century in such companies as Ford, Toyota and later General Electric. These fundamental methods are also used for project planning and execution in modern organizations providing products or services – though in a modified form, suitable for fast-paced environment. Choosing the optimal solution for a specific industry, expected objectives, within planned timeframe and budget; is a key to success.
Collaboration stages: 1. Define the project scope (problematic area of specific issue); 2. Initial process observation at customer premises; 3. Project execution proposal – 2-3 possible options; 4. Agree on optimal option for customer; 5. Project management according to phases: Initiation – Planning – Execution – Monitoring & Controlling – Closing. Project Team training focused on tools used for project execution; 6. Project documentation handover to customer.
